TIGERBOB: ELYSIAN GARDEN PLAYING CARDS
September 2024 - March 2025
SOLD FOR 0.06-0.08 ETH each via OpenSea
216 pixel illustrations showing Gossamer's artistic interpretation of the common French-suited playing cards. Dozens of new pixel art designs are featured on each of the cards. Four decks, or colorways, are comprised of 52 standard playing cards, one joker, and one card back.
Tigerbob is focused on pixel art because of the design's ability to translate to various textile charts or graphs, like knitting and weaving pattern designs. The card illustrations were designed first in two colors (monochrome) so that each element could also be properly knitted on Gossamer's knitting machines.
"I spent a year designing knitwear prior to this project, and all that thinking about how my pixel art could be interpreted as two-color knitting charts (intarsia designs) made this technical concept the forefront of this project, and all projects approaching my pixel art."
60 items were purchased over a period of 188 days. In an effort to reward the Tigerbob community, and to continue focus on new work, Gossamer made the decision to close the mint and distribute the remaining digital collectibles to customers that purchased and did not sell or transfer their token. Eligible wallets were shuffled and tokens were transferred on March 13, 2025.
Upon completion of the distribution, 2 cards were given for each card purchased. The artist held back 44 digital collectibles. In total, 112 tokens were air-dropped to buyers, approximately 51% of the collection.
A printed deck of the cards will be available soon on tigerbob.store. Check our Medium article about the project to learn more about the artwork.

1/1 DIGITAL COLLECTIBLE ・ February 2025
beast 06 ・ Snake
SOLD FOR 0.1 ETH via Manifold Gallery
This is Snek ball, a new character in the Tigerbob universe.
The image is a snake knotted into a large ball with intricate, multicolored scales and mysterious flames hovering over it. The creature is a portrait of an antique ball of cloth-woven rope from Japan in Gossamer's personal collection. Rendered in colored pencil and ink on cream paper and illustrated for 2025 Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac.
I like to imagine that snek ball and Tigerbob like to play and share wisdom together. Its origin could be an old ball of rope that became possessed by a wood spirit after 1,000 years.
Physical print editions of the drawing are available here.
1/1 DIGITAL COLLECTIBLE ・ February 2025
beast 05 ・ Dragon
SOLD FOR 0.1 ETH via Manifold Gallery
Originally minted February 2024 for Year of the Dragon. This piece is composed of two nearly identical drawings (colored pencil and ink on paper) animated in Adobe Photoshop and presented in .gif format. The drawing was started in June 2021 and set aside for several years so I could ruminate on the concept and complete the art piece properly.
Two of Two concept:
“I have drawn twins of the physical image, in colored pencil and ink, on paper. The drawings are not meant to be perfect copies. Animating these two images together produces a third and final digital artwork.”
