Undulation is Gossamer's newest exploration within the realm of Tigerbob. The project consists of a digital HTML script and a matching cashmere tapestry knitted on a hacked vintage knitting machine.
Uniting Gossamer’s affinity for hand-powered, meticulous & repetitive mark-making, Undulation explores the relationship between different grid inputs used to create images on screens and in fabric.
The aesthetic of the work is derived from Gossamer’s unique visual language, translated in pixel form. The 24 repeating jacquard tiles expand the Elysian Garden, visualizing a dense maze of flowers, foliage & living things that seem to move with the pulse of the natural world.
"I’m trying to create this feeling of a rustling of grass, the undulation you see from leaves gently vibrating in the wind… a presence and mindfulness of being in the moment, of witnessing something very natural and quiet.

The process, the mindful repetition and hand manipulation of the material or tool; and the tactile feel of the material or tool in my hands; this is the core aspect of why I create work - I create a mindful, stimulating practice for myself. I enjoy it, and I find it fulfilling and healing.

The primary sale of this work includes the HTML script and physical tapestry.
The tapestry is ready to hang can be displayed any way that you like. The two panels are separate and interchangeable.
Pricing Information
The artwork consists of 24 hand drawn tiles. One physical knitted & framed tile is priced approximately $500 USD each.
Sale Information
85% of the primary sale goes to the artist, and 15% goes to SuperRare. The buyer must pay a 3% marketplace fee.
Worldwide shipping is included. If you are the highest bidder, please provide your contact & shipment information securely upon conclusion of the auction. Please note that taxes, duties, & fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
Auction Information
The reserve auction will be initiated on Thursday July 26 at 12:00am ET. The intention of this reserve is to provied a fair value for the time & materials for constructing the physical.
The first bid must meet or exceed the reserve price. This will trigger a 24-hour countdown to the end of the auction, with 15 minute extensions. The highest bid wins the auction.
